The founder and also current Managing Partner D.M.Chandika Somarathana own DISTINCTION CONSRUCTION with the vision and the leadership of his dynamic personality. Consistency in quality of work and achievement of targets, in the sturdy attributes on which this Engineering organization progressed from modest beginnings. Since inception a norm of growth driven by commitment to work excellence consolidated itself as an enduring feature.
In its two decades of existence, superior expertise in a wide range of skills as well as dedicated execution of work came to be associated with the name “DISTINCTION CONSTRUCTION”. Though the third decade starting some years ahead of the new millennium saw a severe downturn of construction activity; the company’s inner strengths saw it through even as others wilted under adversity.

With widening interaction in the Construction Industry in Sri Lanka, and prudent and cautions diversification, DISTINCTION CONSTRUCTION has been able to participate at enhanced levels, executing large projects in collaboration with overseas partners. While not abandoning its field or activity in the more traditional works, the firm its beginning to exert itself as a vibrant and even more dynamic contributor to Sri Lanka’s progress. Efforts of the past few years are now bearing fruit and DISTINCTION CONSTRUCTION is stepping into more projects in collaboration with partner firms from Europe and East Asia.

DISTINCTION CONSTRUCTION is one of the pioneer Civil Engineering Construction Companies in Sri Lanka. The Company has grown over the years from its humble beginning to become one of the major construction companies in the country. We have the capability, resources and knowledge to undertake any major civil engineering construction work. We are registered under the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA), performing and proving the quality, speed and the assurance fulfilling the client requirements and satisfaction at all time. Quantity Survey
Increase customer satisfaction at an average of 90% over in 2019
Project Site
Reduce clients’ defects/ rejects to a maximum 0.1% of the total project value by the end of 2019
Achieve a DIFOT (Delivery in full and on time) at least 90% over in 2019
Procurement
On time right material and equipment supplement – over possible orders to an average of 98% in 2019
Human Resources
Conducting training programs and enhancing the competency of staff-completion of training plan at an average of 85% during the year 2019
Machinery and transportation
Optimize equipment utilization: Improve ratio of operating hours over possible hours to an average of 95% over in 2019
